Dubai-based conglomerate Majid Al Futtaim is to launch Ghaf Woods Mall, its first development located within a forested landscape. The launch marks the company’s expansion into experiential retailing and promoting sustainable living.
Located on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, the mall is set to feature a combination of retail, dining, leisure, and lifestyle experiences, which is completed alongside the conglomerate’s AED$15.4 billion (US$4.1 billion) Ghaf Woods residential community.
Strategically designed under the concept of ‘Mall in the Forest,’ the mall is part of the company’s plan to blend premium retail with immersive natural surroundings, as well as cater to customers with an experience-led environment.
“Ghaf Woods Mall is set to mark a bold new era in retail and community placemaking, an unprecedented landmark nestled within a forested landscape and a new Majid Al Futtaim flagship shopping destination in Dubai,” said Ahmed El Shamy, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim.
The company says the forest-merged location, with biophilic design, is well-positioned to welcome retail flagships, while attracting tenants with early entry into a high-growth catchment area.
