Fast fashion retailer Primark will open its first Saudi Arabia store at The Avenues Mall in Riyadh in March next year, expanding its partnership with retail franchise operator Alshaya Group.
The store will offer the brand’s womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, home, and beauty products.
Primark CEO Eoin Tonge said strong customer demand following the brand’s launches in Kuwait and Dubai had reinforced its expansion plans across the Middle East.
“The demand we’ve seen for our first stores in Kuwait and Dubai has given us real confidence in the strength of the Primark brand and the opportunity for us across the region,” Tonge said.
“Saudi Arabia is an important next step in our growth, and we’re pleased to be building on our partnership with Alshaya to bring Primark here next.”
The Riyadh store will be located at The Avenues Mall, a mixed-use development spanning 390,000sqm with more than 400,000sqm of gross leasable area.
This project includes international retailers alongside leisure and entertainment attractions and is scheduled to open in March next year.
Alshaya Group CEO John Hadden said the Saudi Arabia launch would build on the brand’s successful debut in the UAE.
“As we work with Primark to grow the brand in the region, after such a fantastic reception in Dubai, we are now looking forward to more stores this year and then the much-anticipated opening in Saudi Arabia next year.”
The retailer is also set to expand further across the Gulf this year, with stores scheduled to open at City Centre Bahrain on September 23 and Doha Festival City in Qatar on October 29.
