Nike has appointed Aaron Cain as its Converse division’s new CEO, as Jared Carver, who had only held the role for two years, steps down.

Cain has held various roles at Nike for 21 years, the most recent being Nike’s global men’s business VP and GM.

The company reported a 9 per cent sales decline in its annual results in June, with Converse seeing a 19 per cent decrease in sales.

Nike CEO and president Elliot Hill said the company expected improved results moving forward, as a result of its Win Now strategy.

The brand has recently been subject to several new executive appointments, including Tony Bignell stepping in as COO, Amy Montagne taking up the title of Nike’s brand president, and Jennifer Hartley being named chief strategy officer, among others.

Cain and Carver will work together till the end of July to facilitate the transition at Converse.
