Subway has appointed new leadership spanning three regions to help accelerate the brand’s growth, increase franchisee profitability, and elevate its guest experience.
Damien Harmon was appointed president of Subway North America after most recently holding the position of senior executive VP of customer, channel experiences, and enterprise services at Best Buy.
In that role, Harmon drove employee engagement, increased and improved long-term customer relations, and delivered consistent results for the company.
Subway has appointed Tracy Gehlan president of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). She has over 25 years of experience leading franchise operations across multiple industries.
Gehlan was previously senior VP EMEA and COO international at Hertz Global Holdings, where she drove business growth, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
A board member of Americana Restaurants International, she held senior roles at quick-service restaurant (QSR) brands including Smashburger and Burger King, and was most recently president international at Driven Brands.
Artemio Garza has been appointed president of Subway Latin America and Caribbean (LAC). He has nearly 20 years of experience in franchising, QSRs, and multi-unit retail across Latin America and North America.
Garza was previously chief growth officer at Renuity, where he led expansion strategies, oversaw marketing and customer operations teams, and drove business growth. He also held several leadership roles at Driven Brands and Burger King in Latin America and currently owns a full-service bakery-bistro in his hometown of Monterrey, Mexico.
“We’ve brought together a group of strong, experienced leaders who believe in Subway’s vision and are committed to partnering with our franchisees and employees to take this brand to the next level,” said Jonathan Fitzpatrick, CEO of Subway.
“They know operations, they understand the guest experience, and I’m confident they’ll help us deliver strong business results and bring new energy to Subway.”
