Dubai parking provider Parkin has launched a new initiative, ‘Spots for Shops’, which, it says, will allow drivers to offset parking fees through qualifying purchases.
Customers who park in any paid Parkin area adjacent to a participating retailer will receive a cashback equivalent to the parking fee, which will be credited to their Parkin wallet.
Merchants can complete validation through the Parkin application, with a minimum spend threshold, using the customer’s mobile number.
In the initial rollout, the company says 15 businesses will join the initiative.
“By seamlessly connecting parking with everyday retail experiences, we are making it easier for customers to access neighbourhood destinations while supporting local businesses and strengthening the wider ecosystem that drives the city’s growth,” said Osama AlSafi, COO at Parkin.
According to the company, the program is designed to boost foot traffic, increase visibility, and enhance customer convenience for local businesses. In addition, it incorporates artwork and a campaign to guide drivers through the participating retail locations.
“Small businesses play a vital role in Dubai’s economic landscape, and ‘Spot for Shops’ reflects how Parkin is reimagining parking as an enabler of urban mobility and local commerce,” said AlSafi.
